Al-Madinah School’s Curriculum
Year 2024/2025
Level 1:
The aim of this level is to teach the students the Arabic alphabets with the ability to pronounce the letters correctly.
Plus, the students should know the letters with the Alfatha, Aldamah and Alkasra.
In this level the students will practice by reciting the small Surrats from the Quran chapter 30. During this level, the student will be practicing from the Quran by reading/reciting and memorizing the following Surrats: Al- Fatiha and Al-Nass to Al-Pheel.
From the student’s book “ Quaeedat Al-Madinah Al-Nabaweeya”, the students should touch on the following lessons from page 1 to 12:
Learn the Arabic Alphabets, learn where a specific letter is in a word, learn Alfatha, Aldamah, Alkasra. Learn Almmad with Alef, Almmad with Yaa, Almmad with waw.
Learn Altanween with fatha, Altanween with Dammah, Altanween with Kasrah.
Al-Quaeedatu Al-Nouranieh will be used too.
“If the student knows the letters and how to pronounce them correctly and has the ability to repeat the small Surrats without difficulties, then he/she should move to level 2”.
Level 2:
The aim of this level is to make sure that the students know how to read and pronounce the Arabic alphabets correctly with the Alfatha, Aldamah, and Alkasra.
Then, the students will be introduced to some of the rules and principles of reading from the Quran chapter 30. By the end of this level the students should be able to read from the Quran without any difficulties.
During this level, the student will be practicing from the Quran by reading/reciting and memorizing the following Surrats: Al-Humaza to Al-Duha.
From the student’s book “ Quaeedat Al-Madinah Al-Nabaweeya”, the students should touch on the following lessons from page 13 to 19:
Learn Almmad, Alsukoun, Altanween, Alshadah, Alhaa, Altaa Almarbouta and Hamzatu Alwasal. Also will learn the small letters.
Al-Quaeedatu Al-Nouranieh will be used too.
“If the student knows how to read from the Quran and has good pronunciation skills then he/she should move to level 3”.
Level 3:
The aim of this level is to give the students the rules and principles of Tajweed. We expect the students in this level to know how to read from the Quran chapter 30 with good pronunciation and know basic principles of Tajweed.
The advancement of the student in this level is based on the student’s ability in memorization and how to apply the rules and principles that they have learned in level 2.
We expect the students to memorize the following surrats Al-layl to Al-Infitar.
From the student’s book “ Quaeedat Al-Madinah Al-Nabaweeya”, the students should touch on the following lessons from page 20 to 26:
Learn Almmad Allazem, Alghounah, and Aledgham.
“If the student knows the principles of Tajweed (and what he/she learned in the previous level) and knows how to read from the Quran correctly and memorised 80 percent of the surrats that in level 3, then, he/she can move to level 4.
Level 4:
The aim of this level is to have the students memorize the following Surrats: Al-Takuir to Al-Quiyamah.
Also, how to apply the principles of Tajweed that was taught in the previous level.
From the student’s book “ Quaeedat Al-Madinah Al-Nabaweeya”, the students should touch on the following lessons from page 27 to 36.
“If the student can read well with the Principles of Tajweed that he/she learned in previous level and memorized 80 percent of the Surrats in level 4, then, he/she can move to level 5.
Level 5:
The aim of this level is to have the students memorize the Surrats: Al-Muddather to Al-Haqua with all the Principles of Tajweed that was taught in the previous levels.
“To progress to level 6, the student should have memorized 80 percent of the Surrats in level 5 with good knowledge of the Principles of Tajweed.
Level 6:
The aim of this level is to have the students memorize Surrats: Al-Qualam to Al-Moonafiqoon with all the Principles of Tajweed that was taught in the previous levels.
To graduate from level 6, the student should have memorized almost Juz’ 28, 29 and 30.
Level 7
The aim of this level is to have the students memorize Surrats: Al-Jumaa and UP (about 4 pages a week) with all the Principles of Tajweed that was taught in the previous levels
Please keep in mind that we introduceAl-Quaeedatu Al-Nouranieh to all students at all levels when they need to improve their reading skills. There is a strong emphasis on reading rather than memorization.
